Mr. Spears intends to step down as conservator of Britney Spears

After months of public pressure, Britney Spears’ father signalled he intends to step down as conservator of the singer’s estate.Jamie Spears indicated the “public battle with his daughter” led to the decision, however he claimed his removal would be baseless, according to a prepared copy of his legal response obtained by CNN.

The move comes days after Judge Brenda Penny denied a petition filed by Ms Spears’ lawyer Mathew Rosengart to move a September 29 hearing about the case up to August 23 in an effort to remove her father as conservator as soon as possible.

“We are pleased that Mr Spears and his lawyer have today conceded in a filing that he must be removed. It is vindication for Britney. We are disappointed, however, by their ongoing shameful and reprehensible attacks on Ms Spears and others,” Mat Rosengart, attorney for Britney Spears, said in a statement to CNN.

“We look forward to continuing our vigorous investigation into the conduct of Mr Spears, and others, over the past 13 years, while he reaped millions of dollars from his daughter’s estate, and I look forward to taking Mr Spears’s sworn deposition in the near future.”

The elder Spears has been serving as co-conservator of his daughter’s estimated US$60 million estate for more than a decade.

My name is Jinanwa Victoria Ugochi. I’m from Abia state in Nigeria. 1) It is my honor to greet our Miss Nigeria, Joy. Welcome! Tell us a bit about yourself.

It’s my pleasure… My name is Joy Adeola Odeyingbo. I am 24 years old and come from Ogun, a state in Nigeria. I sew to beautify females, as a fashion designer and also the home as an interior decorator. I write and speak to inspire, I am a certified event planner (fashion shows and pageantry majorly). I own a brand with the name ‘JAOTEM CASTLE’ which encompasses JAOTEM DESIGNS AND INTERIORS: An Afrocentric female wears fashion brand and also a brand that deals with the production of beddings/ curtains. JAOTEM EVENTS AND USHER: which is involved in the planning, managing, and coordination of social and corporate events. JAOTEM FOUNDATION: A non-profit organization that is interested in raising the next level of future leaders by providing educational aids to students in primary and secondary school. I am a model and also a beauty Queen. As a student, I completed my national diploma in Science laboratory technology (SLT) with distinctions at the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology in Ibadan, Oyo state Nigeria and I am currently a final year student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, studying Pure and Applied Botany. I am a Christian by religion.

2) Could you tell us how long you have been modeling? You have fantastic photos! We must applaud your photographers because they truly did an amazing job! However, we also know that if we want good and quality photos, it is crucial to have a beautiful and professional model. Tell us, what are your previous experiences in modeling? Would you rather do fashion photography or commercial photography? How much have you worked and what did you do in order for your portfolio to look as it does today?

Thank you. Well, I have been in the industry for about 5 years now. I have walked various fashion shows in Nigeria, I got featured in an international magazine, among which is the Red Carpet Magazine, Mexico. I participated in 4 pageantries of which I emerged as the winner of 3 while I was a runner up for the 4th one. I train models as a catwalk instructor and also I’ve planned fashion shows and managed pageants. Joining the modeling industry for me was quite easy because of my outstanding height of 6ft 2 inches as a lady and also my slim stature, but over the years I had to attend a modeling academy and got trained to become a professional model. I can fit into both fashion photography and commercial photography because of my physique, but then I will do more of fashion photography.

3) You were Miss Nigeria – what would you say you gained with that success and did you participate in any other beauty pageants? What do you think, what qualities should a Beauty Queen possess?

I was the Miss NIGERIA Republic. Yes, it helped me to become a better version of myself, enable me to assist others, meet a whole lot of people thereby increasing my sphere of influence. Yes, I participated in other pageants. A beauty Queen should possess a goal-getting mindset, confidence, charisma, intelligence, beauty, brain among others. A beauty Queen should also be kind and generous as she should be able to use her title to affect and help people around her.

4) You’ve also mentioned you do motivational speaking? What is it about, and do you think your speeches leave a big impression and change the mindsets of people around you? What do you stand for?

Yes, very well… Naturally, I talk effortlessly and people like to listen to me, I’m always been practical when I talk, I shared my personal story of how I grew from a little girl who hated her stature and looks with no self-esteem to a bold, beautiful and energetic lady who is so confident about herself and would put in her very best to achieve her dreams and vision – A goal-getter.

5) Could you tell us a bit more about the talents you’ve presented us within your talent video? Considering we’ve already covered both modeling and beauty pageants, tell us more about fashion design and interior decorations. Where do you find your inspiration?

Yes, thank you. I started my fashion brand as a student in the year 2017 due to my passion for fashion. I got myself into the fashion industry because it was a dream I nursed while growing up. Back then, I usually found it hard to get a well-fitting ready-to-wear dress for myself because I measured what was more than the standard size for my age range, and this will live my mum and I’ve got no choice but to toil the market. Then I started nursing the idea that I would learn fashion designing so I would be able to make my outfits and then I did, I attended a fashion school and different fashion and business summits. At some points, I realized I needed to be creative with my styles and then I started making Afrocentric female outfits with adire (tie and dye) materials. 6) Considering you’ve already represented your country in beauty pageants, we assume you were already engaged in humanitarian work. Were you a member of any non-profit organizations or have you worked as a volunteer?

Yes…I am a member of a non-profit organization where the mission is to rekindle the fire of hope to the hopeless and the needy. I have served and worked as a volunteer at various events and programs and I own a foundation where we give out educational aids to students of primary and secondary schools.

7) Can you tell us something about the country you come from? What do you like most about your country? What are some of the things you would like to change?

Nigeria, my country, is filled with creative, smart, and intelligent people with diverse, beautiful cultures and tribes. The fact that we can adapt swiftly into any condition or situation is absolutely amazing. For me, I will like to change the mindset of people and their belief about education especially the young ones; a lot believe education is about just academics but much more than that, it’s the value instilled into an individual, the beliefs, the philosophy of such individual because all these will sum up to make an individual and then his perspective about national and economic growth.

8.) Do you see yourself as a potential Miss of Miss Economic World championship? What will you do if you win this competition?

Yes, I see myself as a potential miss of the Miss Economic World Championship. I have what it takes to represent, promote and fit into the title. 1.) Hello, Ivana! Welcome! Can you tell us a bit about yourself and introduce yourself to us briefly?

Hello. It is my pleasure to be a part of this interview. My name is Ivana Savic, born in Belgrade, the capital of the Republic of Serbia, where I live. I graduated from the “School of Beauty Care” as well as the Faculty of Economics.  I speak English and Spanish and I have been actively involved in basketball. I have also been training all my life. I have been actively involved in modeling for 15 years and that is why I have worked for many big brands for the entire Balkan region. This year I will represent Serbia at Miss Economic World, and I am very excited about that.

2.) You’ve mentioned that you do modeling.  How long have you been working as a model and what are some of the engagements you’ve done? Have you been in a model agency or have you worked as a freelancer?

Yes, I have been working as a model for 15 years. I’m 176cm tall, and my measurements are 90-60-90. I accidentally entered the world of fashion, when I heard an advertisement for Miss Balkans on the radio. I entered that competition and became the second runner-up in the Balkans. I have shot commercials for many food products, cosmetics. I recorded music videos with many very famous pop artists in Serbia. Many times I recorded various most popular singles for many Serbian televisions with our very famous actors. In 2017, I was the face of a Milan brand called Gossip, and billboards with my face could be seen everywhere. In 2019, I won the International Beauty Show in Naples and was named the best model in Europe. I am now part of Miss Economic World and I am very happy about that. I have also worked with fashion agencies: Tattoo Model Agency; Slide-Media Model Agency. Now, I work as a freelancer.

3) How did you find out about Miss Economic World and decide to apply (as a competitor)? Tell us about some of your experiences up until now. Who makes up your team of people?

I have been in business for a long time and people from the “Fashion Industry” know what a professional I am. So I got an offer from the National Director Svetlana Gavrilović. I immediately liked the idea of the Miss Economic World project because this choice does not only require external beauty, but a complete personality with attitude and knowledge, which I highly value. My team of people is made up of the best professionals: National Director – Svetlana Gavrilović; National Manager – Katarina Munjić; Model Agency: modelskar.com; Fashion photographer- VladanMilisavljevic who did this promo photos; Fashion designer – Milos Miletić.

4) Tell us, Miss Economic World and Miss of Balkan are the only pageants you’ve applied to, or have you been to others?

No, this is not my only choice for Miss. I was also a participant in Miss Europe Continental and a winner at the International Beauty Show 2019 in Naples. This is my third choice for Miss in my life, but I approached this project very professionally and seriously because the whole mission of this competition is serious and great.

5) In the competition, you are known as one of the bravest girls. Aside from being one of the first ten girls to do this interview, there is something else. Could you tell us a bit about your talent video and explain what is it that you did? What motivated you?

I’m glad to hear that. My talent video came about spontaneously. Miss Economic World supports the great Superstar Art Foundation, which helps young talents to realize themselves in many artistic spheres. With my video, I wanted to show the courage of an artist. We always talk about easier things, but many artists sometimes don’t have the funds for their great ideas, so they have to be imaginative and original in order to please people. It is my video that shows the courage and originality of an artist. Being an artist means having a big heart. That’s the message of my jump. By the way, skydiving is the most beautiful experience of my life. When you jump off a plane, the impression is that the whole world is you. 6.) Aside from probably being the first Miss to ever jump off a plane for a beauty pageant, and for the first time in your life, I might add, we see that you have many talents. Could you tell us about some of them, and do you think they can help you win this competition?

I think I’m the first Miss to jump off a plane and I’m glad about that. I have to say that I play the accordion, and I am talented in a sport I enjoy very much. I also have a talent for acting, which is something I want to do in the future. I love reading poetry, and all my life, I have been closely associated with acting. As a child, I used to recite many times at children’s recitations. This year I want to enroll at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade.

7.) In this competition, you are presenting your country: Serbia, and your city: Belgrade. I would like you to tell us something about your country and your city. Why do you love it, and what are some of the qualities you would like to point out? Also, what do you think about modeling in Serbia? Does the country offer many possibilities for people who wish to pursue modeling as a profession?  Who are some of the models you consider to be the best in Serbia?

The capital of the Republic of Serbia is Belgrade – the city where I was born, where I live and create life. Everyone who comes to Serbia always returns to it because we are good hosts. We welcome everyone with a wide heart, and with a smile. We have great historical landmarks, rich nature, and beautiful people. The city of Belgrade is surrounded by two rivers: the Sava and the Danube. On the banks of both rivers, there are beautiful restaurants that offer guests the best Serbian specialties. Serbia is a country full of love, and everyone who comes to Serbia leaves with such an impression with them. Modeling as a profession is difficult. We all know that the market is big and luckily someone needs to stand out in that world. There are jobs in Serbia for models who want to work. However, modeling jobs are a far better-paid abroad, but Serbia has very nice people, and I think that our models are doing well in the world, such as BojanaKrsmanović, for example.

8.) And to finish this up, we can notice that this competition is not just a pageant. What would you say – what is it that makes it so unique (different, special)?  Also, we can notice that this pageant stands for humanitarian work, as well. Tell us, what area of humanitarian work interests you the most? And how would you help people if you were to become Miss Economic World? And do you otherwise contribute to your community and help make your environment a better place?

Another reason why I applied for the Miss Economic World pageant is that the organization stands for humanitarian matters. (If I were to win), I would be more in favor of providing better treatments for children, I would be in favor of a lower rate of hunger in the world. I would advocate a lifelong ban on killing animals, because of fur … I am generally known for my humanitarian work because if a fashion show is organized for children suffering from cancer, I will be very responsive to it. It never occurred to me to walk past a begging man without leaving him some money. I think that a Miss Economic World should have a mission in which it will raise people’s awareness, to be more focused on each other – to take care of family, friends, to laugh more, and create good deeds.

Popular Chinese app WeChat suspends new registrations

In a social media post, Tencent-owned WeChat, known as Weixin in China, said the suspension was related to an upgrade of security technology “according to relevant laws and regulations”

Tech giant Tencent Holdings’ WeChat, China’s most popular messaging app, said it was suspending registration of new users in mainland China until early August as it was undergoing a technical upgrade.

The development comes amid a widening crackdown by Chinese regulators on technology and private tutoring companies.

In a social media post, WeChat, known as Weixin in China, said the suspension was related to an upgrade of security technology “according to relevant laws and regulations”.

“During this time, registration of new Weixin personal and official accounts has been temporarily suspended. Registration services will be restored after the upgrade is complete, which is expected in early August,” it said.

It did not elaborate on either the upgrade or what the laws or regulations were.

Tencent’s stocks in Hong Kong went down by nearly 9% on Tuesday, its worst day in a decade, reports said.

Recently, cab-hailing giant Didi suspended registration of new users after several departments of the Chinese government launched an investigation into alleged misuse of private data.

WeChat is the latest in that fast-growing list.

The app says it has around 1.2 billion users worldwide with the majority of users on the Chinese mainland.

Hundreds of millions of people in China use the app to message friends, make payments, book taxis, and share highlights of their lives under a category of update called “moments”.
