Beauty Pageant or Survival Game?

MARIA JOSE MINGUEZ. 3RD FINALIST OF MISS MULTIVERSE 2020 AND MISS ALPHA FEMALE 2020.

Maria Jose Minguez: Spanish International model
also known as “MJ Minguez” and currently, the “3rd finalist of Miss Multiverse 2020” TV Show reality and personality contest and title holder of “Miss Alpha Female 2020”.

INTERVIEW: Maria Jose Minguez, 3rd finalist of Miss Multiverse 2020 – Inside view of the competition in her own words.

Miss Multiverse has been for me such a unique experience. I decided to join ten days just before the contest happened. In the moment I got all the information regarding Multiverse TV show and personality contest I knew this would be a real challenge… the exotic beaches, the environment, the jungle , fresh fruits… not forgetting that we lived all of this experience in the middle of the pandemic…the amazing hotel where we stayed for almost one month: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana made the past December so special and unforgettable for me.

I made very nice friendship with my roomie “Miss Multiverse Mexico” (Fabiana) and with “Miss Multiverse Brazil” (Luana) …we have a lot of fun since day one.

Once I land there, I tried to enjoy and focus with a positive mindset.

The Miss Multiverse IQ Test.

The day after we land, they asked us to come in business outfit.
First of all, Multiverse organization met us in the meeting hotel room for an intelligence test. I have to say that since day one everything was always unpredictable, what I mean is that we never knew which test, exam or challenge were going to face each single day from now on.

IQ test made the most of us confused and a bit nervous! but this was just the first day!
After that, we had a presentation and introduction of each contestant with the sashes and countries participating. That was very beautiful, but I have to remind you most of us were affected by jet lag ha-ha.

The Last Woman Standing

Wait, did you hear? This was for me and for the most of us one of the hardest challenges. We needed (since really early morning) stay exercising with a coach, and a kind of “huge pressure around us” (you will be able to watch soon).
During the morning was both: Rainy and sunny (tropical weather as you could guess) and we kept moving, running, holding weights, jumping… etc. Until the last woman who stayed up!
After this challenge I think that day so many of us didn’t know if we would be able to keep competing! Ha-ha. In this year, last woman standing stay almost 7 hours up.

I remember, sometimes I was very ok and some others I felt so exhausted during this challenge… no doubt that Last Woman Standing is an amazing experience to see yourself out of your limits and I think we should all experience at least once in life this survival test!

How did I recover from…? Easy, I took with me to The Dominican Republic, my favorite massage gun by Beats Body ☺ ( www.beatsbody.com ) , they have so many colors available and amazing function pre-workout, to recover and any time you feel you need it (like me that I’m currently using it too during long flights).
Also, my colleagues were so happy to be able to recover in just few minutes!
However, only regular intake viagra without prescription uk of this fruit will yield some lasting effects. Some other challenges during our stay at paradise…

Some other challenges were such check our speed in water competing 2 by 2 at the hard rock hotel, Bikini challenge, Scape room, also Karaoke ( omg I never expected this , but it wish a new challenge too for me) , paintball at the Samaná Island ( this experience was so unique as the hotel we stayed in called “Unique Exotic Hotel”, the energic you feel there is unbelievable… something far of what you could ever imagine… the jungle and nature there will make you feel that you don’t even need to sleep the amount of hours that usually you do, at least under my experience…there was another challenge we faced about the Flag and the famous spies.. soon you will understand what I’m talking about…the day we did some tourist there we went to the waterfalls… and we visited the amazing “chinola” (passion fruit) plantations: I love it, love it and love it!!! Drinking the Chinola juice while eating some “Fritos with local fish” won’t let anyone indifferent ☺.
We did for sure exercises there too, but everything really special… it’s a continues competition with yourself, an overcoming.

More than a challenge a… Charity Project

This challenge made us come closer to those who need it most and we made it thanks to the supported people improvement their life conditions.
Seeing their smiles was more than unique.

Back from Samaná, Punta Cana Hard Rock hotel and travelling again this time too…

In this Occasion, we had the opportunity to visit the capital: Santo Domingo!!!
Wow this was a fast visit, but we had an interview in one of the biggest channels in the Country.
After a long shoot and testimonials, we visit the center of the city: Plaza de España ☺ and the most historic part!n In between challenges … Pre-gala, some time for fun, rest and big final…!

This is not, like another beauty pageants, so when talking about finals mean, you get to know more and less what’s your position will be… while in the pre-gala and gala, we had a national dress show, Evening gown, and bikini show.

Hope you can watch the whole season and get ready for the adventure feeling like you’re living a dream in the Caribbean at the same time that you re growing and knowing each of the contestant joining all over globe and learn how to compete with yourself in daily bases with each episode.

WAIT.. THIS HAS BEEN IN 2020? REALLY?

Actually, in December, and due to pandemic, we had some unexpected situations,

Like mine that I had to stay for more days to reach my destination:
I needed a “pcr test negative” and a flight to my destination that wasn’t easy to catch by that moment.
This last days were also unforgettable and this place has touched my heart and soul!

British Fashion Brand Timbuktu Comes Under Fire For Trademarking “Yoruba

Timbuktu Global trademarked the word “Yoruba” in 2015

A British fashion brand has come under criticism on social media for trademarking “Yoruba,” the name of an ethnic group in West Africa

Timbuktu, an outdoor clothing brand based in northern England, filed to trademark the word “Yoruba” in 2015, records from the UK’s Intellectual Property Office show.

More than Meets the Conversation : FNL Network Talkshow The FNL Network Talk

One One word is a standout when describing the show: “diverse”. This is no surprise as all four hosts of the show come from different walks of life and are various individuals.

Breck Graham, Krista Keller, James Davis — a.k.a. Elaine Lancaster, and Ziba Lennox cohost the show. The group of four delight and entertain viewers weekly while enlightening them on the truth of current events.

Lennox tells me the show is full of “hot topics and conversations that matter.”

Each week, the moderator chooses one, or a few, topics that will be discussed on the show. Topics vary between celebrities, fashion, politics, and real-life situations. These topics are then dissected through each host’s lens of the world. Digging deeper, the talk show stands as a platform to hear and listen to other’s opinions as well as the many sides of a situation. “[The show is an opportunity to] inspire the viewing audience to think about our perspective if they don’t already share it,” Davis explains.

Lennox maintained the same positions, clarifying that disagreements should not lead to hate. She hopes this show will help individuals keep perspective that relationships do not need to be broken simply due to differences.

The goal in the show takes a similar stance. Each host hopes it can act as an informational forum. Keller discusses, “I want to leave them thinking more about current affairs that are happening all around us [and] teach people that you can have different views than others and still get along.” And, of course, exposure would be beneficial in this regard. “We have four voices⎯Krista, James, Ziba, and me⎯on the show, different perspectives, different walks of life.

Take your pick who you like. We say what we feel. No TV directors or corporate people over our shoulders or in our ears. It is all real,” Graham tells me.

This endeavor officially began almost two months ago with the first episode. However, talk of the show has been going on for about a year. It started with FNL Network, a free television network founded in 2015 by the show’s current creator, Rocco Leo Gaglioti.

The network is free and without account signup, available on a variety of devices including Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, and all Android and Apple iOS devices. All of the hosts had a connection to the network or Gaglioti. Graham and Gaglioti met at Milan Fashion Week. “Of course two Americans in an Italian city going to a show, we struck up a conversation and became friends.

Keller and her daughter, Courtney Stodden, had done a reality show that premiered on The FNL Network. Gaglioti and Davis modeled together in the early 1990s and worked together in the early 2000s, covering fashion events for The FNL Network. Lennox worked with Gaglioti a few times on various projects including New York & Paris Fashion Week and the movie, Covid-19: Global Lockdown. All hosts informed me of Rocco Leo Gaglioti’s brilliance when it comes to any of his projects. None of them could turn down a position as exciting as this. “It’s extremely rare that a Network houses divergent views and encourages us to speak our minds,” Lennox rationalizes. Graham also found the individuality of the network to be out of the ordinary. “He told me to be me. I was a bit nervous about that! Usually, people tell me the opposite.”

Vardenafil 20mg (Snovitra) is one of the miamistonecrabs.com levitra on sale intense medications for the treatment of erectile brokenness in males. Why High Cholesterol acquisition de viagra Causes Impotence? Impotence is often curable and 95% of impotence patients find an effective solution in Kamagra. All a man has to do is watch out for any potential hoaxes and http://miamistonecrabs.com/travel-lacrosse-miami-summer/ levitra samples scams. I know this article levitra best price may have started out a little gloomy, but there is a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow I promise you.
Gaglioti contacted everyone, explained his idea, and the group has been releasing a new show every Friday since.
I’m told being a host on the show is “electric”. Of course, the task holds responsibility. Since the show is dedicated heavily to current events, hosts must stay up-to-date on the latest happenings. As always over the internet, there can be the issue of saying something controversial, as Graham points out. “In the back of my mind, what if I say the wrong thing, then the social media warriors come after me with pitchforks. If you throw a rock, you hit a person who is offended by something.”

There is also a duty to thoroughly listen to their peer’s opinions and discuss rather than argue. This can be refreshing, though, Lennox explained. “We don’t have an agenda, the team works hard to dig for the truth.” For Davis in particular, the show is a breath of fresh air. Before FNL Network Talk Show, the host worked on a show through Q Television Network. “I had to be in drag Monday through Friday 8 AM to 6 PM and it could be exhausting…opposed to the FNL Network talk show where I can or cannot get into Drag and log onto zoom and reach virtually the entire world one day a week.”

The talk show on FNL Network gives this sense of comfortability, flexibility, and freedom for both the hosts and the audience by being held virtually. “After over a year in lockdowns, Zoom has become an almost best friend,” Graham explains. He tells me there is an ease to it. “We are very comfortable interacting on the screen with each other. There are no egos.” But I’m told by Keller what truly makes the show rewarding is the people she gets to work with. “What really makes it nice is that I enjoy the other hosts immensely even though we have different points of view at times.” They have each grown to adore and respect one another since the first day of filming. “While we may disagree frequently, it’s highlighted for me that people who don’t view the world exactly as I do are still good people!” Lennox says, further pushing the point that disagreements do not form enemies.

The four have become good friends despite these differences, often continuing the conversation after filming.

The four encourage their audience, and everyone for that matter, to be constantly skeptical. “Bias is built into the system,” they explain, “everyone has their own particular biases”. When it comes to world events, there is rarely a right and wrong that can be picked out from the news. Krista Keller encourages reading from both conservative and liberal media. From there, personal conclusions can be drawn according to what feels and sounds to be right on the matter. Independent journalism podcasts are a favorite of Ziba Lennox. She suggests The Intercept due to it being “researched and reported on without concession.” She tells me, “This type of adversarial journalism has helped me understand that things aren’t always as they seem and that corruption and injustice exist everywhere regardless of who’s in power.” Media and any source of news should be combed through heavily before trusting truth in it; research is important.

Breck Graham, Krista Keller, James Davis, and Ziba Lennox can be seen on The FNL Network Talk Show every Friday discussing their latest topics. All of the hosts have ideas they will bring in through future episodes. Some include current affairs, psychology, affordable healthcare, race relations, and how today “entertainment is politics and politics is entertainment.” Tune in on the FNL Network app and discover how many sides there are to each situation.

Warah: Looking to the future 10 years on.

As she stood in front of this empty derelict small room top of a Banani garage, Rumana Chowdhury could feel her heart pump fast. Just two years ago the she had graduated from the BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology and had, while looking after her infant son, started designing outfits from her home. Today she was going to take a bold new step. She had decided she will start her own label and have her own boutique.

The steady stream orders from family and friends had turned into a deluge of orders from friends of friends and from complete strangers. These were her pre-e-commerce days. People kept asking where they can come and see her collections. Where they could try out her outfits. So, after grappling with a lot of hesitation and thought Rumana gathered the courage to dream big. With the help, support and
encouragement from her family she signed on the lease to a small outlet in Banani. And soon after she was invited to the first ever Dhaka Fashion Week where she won the prestigious Best Designer award.

That was now a decade ago.

Today Warah is a much-loved name in the designer circles in Bangladesh. And beyond one can say, as her clothes have been shipped to USA, UK, Australia, Korea, Romania, Hungry, Italy and Cambodia to
name but a few. Warah’s outfit are often featured in newspapers and fashion magazines. And has even won Rumana the first ‘City Alo Colors Magazine’s Platinum Woman of the Year’ last year.

But the journey was not a smooth one. Within a few years of opening her first outlet, the tragedy of Holy Artisan happened. And she was forced to shut down the outlet. But Rumana did not let this setback defeat her. Soon she had re-opened in a slightly smaller but quaint showroom. And the demand for her clothes came back. At beginning of last year, she moved Warah into its current location. Still in Banani, the new outlet gives the space that is in line with the luxury of her products.

“I love working with natural materials,” says Rumana. “Moisturized cotton is the base of most of my

designs.” This along with natural dyes, makes her outfits not only perfect for our summers, but also environmentally friendly. Working with vulnerable artisans and craftspeople, her trendy designs are a
fusion between traditions of eastern wear and the comforts of western ones. She says her affordable luxury is suited at both, the everyday work environment and the parties in the evening. Some of her hand
printed sarees and bespoke outfits have adorned television advertisements, red carpets and celebrity weddings.

“I’ve always had the love of my clients to help be keep churning out a regular stream of collections. We do about 4 a year.” Rumana told us. Her Boishakhi and Eid Collections are ones that the whole industry looks forward to. So of course, we were curious to know how they fared during the lockdown that saw the two most important fashion occasions of the year fall.

“We had great sales. Though we have not been able to open our outlets or even ready the complete collection, we had tremendous response online.” Rumana confessed. Reflecting back on the “General
Holiday” closure has made Warah rethink their short-term objectives. Instead of opening new outlets both locally and internationally (She was in talk of outlets in UK, Cambodia and Vietnam), Warah is now
getting their online store ready to be launched. “I believe that the pandemic has given people a taste of the ease of shopping online. It has accelerated our efforts to take Warah digital.” she said confidently.
“While we look back at so much success we have had over the last decade, I can’t but be overwhelmed by the constant support I’ve received from my patrons and from the fashion media and industry. I am ever so grateful.”

Rumana Chowdhury and Warah stand at the threshold of greater glory. We can’t wait to see what they give us next.

Glasgow Caledonia University London makes Sustainable Fashion statement.

The British School of Fashion, based at GCU London, is boosting its expertise in Sustainable Fashion with the appointment of a leading academic. Dr Natascha Radclyffe-Thomas is bringing considerable international experience in research and teaching to the School, where she has taken up the position of Reader in Marketing and Sustainable Business.
Welcoming the appointment, GCU Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Pamela Gillies CBE FRSE, said: “Dr Radclyffe-Thomas will be fulfilling our commitment to researching the relationship between sustainability, ethical business and profitability in a number of key domains. I am looking forward to seeing this area thrive under her dynamic leadership and how the potential for a unique creative partnership with our Director, Cara Smyth, at our Fair Fashion Centre at GCNYC in New York may unfold.”
Dr Radclyffe-Thomas was partner in award-winning luxury childrenswear fashion label Miss Fleur before becoming a full-time academic teaching at the London College of Fashion. She then spent several years working in Asia and North America before returning to the Fashion Business School launching the innovative flagship BA Fashion Marketing course incorporating global luxury fashion branding and sustainable business and communications. Her work internationalising the curriculum was recognised with her appointment as the University’s inaugural Senior Teaching Scholar and her research expertise includes responsible business and management, international marketing and brand strategy and cross-cultural creativity.
Speaking of her excitement at joining GCU London, Dr Radclyffe-Thomas said she was attracted to Glasgow Caledonian University because of its commitment to sustainable development and the strength of its business and fashion programmes in Glasgow, London and New York. She said: “Sustainable fashion is a rapidly expanding area which is ripe for scrutiny. Policy makers, industry bodies, companies and politicians need credible research to inform policy making and legislation, and I’m looking forward to helping GCU deliver leadership in this area.”
The Dean of GCU London, Professor Antony Morgan, said the creation of the post will build on the success the British School of Fashion has already enjoyed. He said: “Dr Radclyffe-Thomas is already bringing a breath of fresh air to our campus and we are very pleased she has joined us. She is a National Teaching Fellow with a keen interest in cross-disciplinary research. I am confident this new position will help the School develop its connections and collaborations, and I know she is looking forward to meeting and working with colleagues across our University.”
Headed by Director Tim Jackson, the British School of Fashion inspires and contributes to social change through the delivery of education, knowledge and thought leadership in purpose-led fashion and luxury. Dr Radclyffe-Thomas will be conducting cross-disciplinary research on sustainability including fashion, luxury and health; promoting innovative policy in sustainability, international marketing, ethical business and fair trade; delivering global values-based teaching and promoting sustainability literacy.
